Darius Rucker (former lead guy from Hootie & The Blowfish) just released a country tune. "Don't Think I Don't Think About it." What do you think about all the ol' pop stars dipping their feet in the Country Pool? Be sure to comment & vote.

I don't love it but I like it! He sounds better singing Country than singing with the Blowfish.
Don't you think if artists are going to cross over they need to have a little more twang in their country music.
You gotta ask, what makes a song country? A fiddle? Twang? If that were the case, you could take ANY pop song, throw in a washboard and a jug into a remix and call it a day.
I think it's a combo of "feel" and "meaning" -- (and a little bit of something I can't really define.)
Way to open a can o worms, Jackie.
But good food for thought.

Brad is the great prognosticator... lol! Quick, what are this Wednesday's powerball numbers?
Seriously though... Darius is 'DA MAN! I'd listen to Hootie sing the phone book.
Peace Out, yo!
Holy cow, Terry. "Prognosticator?" -- I'd appreciate you using words that I don't have to look up. :)

Hootie and the blow fish were has beens when they weren't has beens! What the heck is wrong with country music today? I'm sick of all these stupid pop/rock stars who have burnt out their careers now trying to "go country." George, we now know "who's gonna fill those shoes"..Brett Michaels and Hootie and the Blowfish.(Next up the bee gees brand new song.."Disco Cowboy.) Why don't you play some REAL country? The Carter Family is sitting up in their land of glory just weeping over what this industry has become. Give it the "hank" challenge..play some Hank (one..not Jr.) and tell us which one's reall country.
I too miss the days of "real" country. Kenny Rogers. Dolly Parton. Eddie Rabbit. Mel McDaniel...
Waitaminute... THOSE guys were considered pop at the time.
(GREAT discussion. Keep it comin')
Next?
i'm thinking that just because you add a little twang and a slide guitar, that doesn't make it country. it still sounds like Hootie - but instead of The Dolphins making him cry (finally) it's a girl... hahahaaaa! The commercial song was good though :)
Who the heck cares if it is Hootie or some newcomer? If the song is good and the singer can hold a tune, that is what matters, not who is singing it. I like it.
